Privacy Policy

Klip ("we") is a short-video and social-commerce app operated by Bizapp Ventures Sdn Bhd. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and your rights, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). It applies to the Klip app (Android / iOS) and the klip.bizapp.my website.

1. Data we collect

  • Account: username, display name, email, phone number (for TAC codes), password (stored as a hash), profile photo and bio.
  • Your content: videos, video covers, captions, comments, likes, saves, reposts, follows and reports.
  • Merchants & affiliates (KlipStore): business type, company name, SSM / MyKad number, business phone number, BIXCORE account details, bank account details (for sales / commission payouts) and verification documents (IC photo, SSM certificate, bank statement), seen only by Klip's review team.
  • Affiliates: clicks on affiliate links / videos (for 30 days) and commission from referred orders.
  • Orders: delivery address, recipient phone number, purchased products, payment amount and order status. FPX payments are processed by CHIP; we do not receive or store your online banking credentials.
  • Location: only if you allow it, for "Friends nearby" and "Use current location" when filling in an address.
  • Camera, microphone & gallery: only to record or pick the videos and photos you upload.
  • Device & usage: device ID, device type, IP address, language, videos watched and for how long, products clicked and "Not interested" choices. This is used for security and to rank the "For You" feed.
  • Third-party login: if you log in with Google or connect Facebook, we receive your name, email and account ID from that provider. For "Find Facebook friends", we receive the list of your Facebook friends who also use Klip; this list is not stored permanently.

2. How we use data

  • To create and manage your account, including TAC verification by SMS and email.
  • To display, store and deliver your videos to viewers.
  • To personalise your feed and account suggestions based on your activity.
  • To process orders, payments, purchase confirmation emails and deliveries.
  • To detect spam, fraud and content that breaks our community guidelines.
  • To contact you about your account, orders or policy changes.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Sharing

  • Other users: your public profile, public videos, comments and likes are visible to others according to each video's privacy setting.
  • Sellers: when you place an order, the seller receives your name, phone number and delivery address to ship the item.
  • Service providers that process data on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (video storage & delivery, and automatic checks of video frames for content that breaks our guidelines), OpenAI (automatic checks of video captions), CHIP (FPX payments), BIXCORE / BIXCORE (product, stock, order, shipping & checkout payment management), Google (login & Google Maps address search), Meta / Facebook (login & friend finding), and SMS and email providers.
  • Authorities where required by law.

4. Storage & security

Data is stored on secure servers and sent over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as hashes, and secret API keys are kept on the server only. We keep data while your account is active. Order and payment records may be kept longer where required by law.

5. Your rights

  • Access and correct your data through Edit profile and Seller details in the app.
  • Choose who can watch each video, or hide it.
  • Withdraw location, camera or microphone permission in your phone settings.
  • Disconnect Google or Facebook.
  • Delete your account yourself at any time: Edit profile → Delete account in the app or on the web — see Account & data deletion for what is deleted and kept.

6. Children

Klip is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under that age, we will delete it.

7. Cookies & local storage

The Klip website uses your browser's local storage to keep you logged in and remember your language. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will change, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
